Oven-baked chicken breasts are easy to make and very high in protein. Paired with a couple of sides, this is a very nutritious meal.
Ingredients
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic powder
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°
- Trim fat off of chicken breast and trim to each piece to about the same thickness. You can do this either by slicing the breasts horizontally to make them the same thickness or by using meat mallet to pound the chicken to about the same thickness. If you slice the chicken, you can save the pieces you aren’t going to bake and dice or slice it to use in another recipe. Put the extra in the freezer if you are not going to use in within the next couple of days.
- Place the chicken in a single layer in a baking dish.
- Drizzle a little olive oil on the check and use your fingers or a cooking brush to spread it out over the chicken.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the chicken.
- Turn the chicken over and put the oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the other side.
- Place the chicken in the oven and cook for about 20 minutes. Cut a small slice into the biggest piece to check to make sure it’s cooked. Cooking time may be a little shorter or longer depending on the thickness of the chicken.
